Apokaluptein Sentia

is a performance/short film/live stream. Live at Judson Church NYC. 2021. 

A film collage of recorded and live footage. The performance by a dancer and two musicians, as well as pre recorded images were simultaneously streamed online and experienced by a small live audience at Judson Memorial Church during the height of the pandemic closures. Frustrated by live pandemic streaming options, I envisioned to blend various realms of ‘live’ and ‘past’ into a new experience.. 

We created a live stream that collaged pre-recorded film elements and live performance and simultaneously was a happening for a small live audience. Some threads for the creation are images around death, aliveness and archetypes of horror, humor and sensuality. ‘ Homo Doloris’, as a portal for integration of pain into aliveness and pleasure. Doloris in this case is a Vampire looking to be invited into the light by a lover in symbolic form of a snake.
